Coach Stores Explained: Flagships, Boutiques and What Awaits You

Coach ended its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, according to Tapestry’s annual report. That total breaks down into 336 stores in North America and 637 outside North America. Some sources also quote a figure of about 1,299 stores, but that total includes all of Tapestry’s brands, not Coach by itself. According to reports, Tapestry has said it plans around 50 net new Coach stores in fiscal 2027, roughly three quarters of them in markets outside North America. Flagship Coach House sites, everyday full-price boutiques, concessions inside department stores and Coach Outlet stores together make up the network. Searching for a coach store can therefore throw up quite different formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Working city by city, this guide covers the best-recorded locations and points out each place where a store’s current status remains to be checked.

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue

New York, where Coach was founded in 1941, is home to the brand’s most recognised flagship. Launched in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue marked the brand’s 75th anniversary. Reports put the store at about 20,000 square feet across three floors, coach bags outlet and its design came from a collaboration with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Even so, the address will not be the store’s long-term base: Coach has reportedly leased about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a future Coach House. Coach has pencilled in 2027 for the intended move, while David Yurman has reportedly leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space and is expected to open there in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so look at Coach’s store locator before making a special trip. The locator also includes a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London: The Coach House on Regent Street

The address of London’s Coach House is 200–206 Regent Street, where it launched in 2016 as a worldwide concept store. As with the New York flagship, it was designed with Studio Sofield, which explains the family resemblance between them. Reports from that period described a Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly need around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks in exotic skins, with a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag reported as well. One retail-district listing displays a much later page date, which has led some writers to state the wrong opening year. According to a published transcript of Tapestry’s August 2026 earnings call, the company said the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has a material presence. If you are planning a personalisation appointment, check which services are currently offered before visiting.

Tokyo: The Ginza Flagship

Tokyo’s Ginza district is home to Coach’s flagship in Japan. Coach unveiled its first Japanese flagship there in 2002 and updated the store in 2015. Based on reports of the relaunch, the flagship reopened on 19 December 2025 at the end of a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY. Some Japanese stores reportedly participate in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange, which makes Japan relevant for services too. Lightly used all-leather retail bags are reportedly accepted by the scheme, but outlet items and canvas pieces are left out. Check with the store before you bring a bag in, because the Japanese stores taking part could not be confirmed. As with every flagship in this guide, opening times and services are best checked shortly before a visit.

Hong Kong, Chongqing and a Dated Shanghai Record in Greater China

Records for Coach’s large stores in Greater China are thinner than those for New York or London. A record that is now dated shows that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet launched on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Avoid assuming the Shanghai store is open today, as its current status could not be verified. Reports also say that Coach has a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. The dates on which those two stores opened could not be verified either. Of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, 637 are international, though the annual report gives no city-by-city list. Travellers should rely on Coach’s local store locator rather than older press coverage when planning a visit.

UK Boutiques and Concessions

Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator lists full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. The London list also includes St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. The Bullring in Birmingham is home to the documented full-price store outside London. Coach is also present in concessions at Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and other cities went unconfirmed, so check before assuming a local branch exists. For those searching coach uk locations, the list above gathers the documented full-price options as of writing. For hours and services, the safest place is each listed store’s own page on Coach’s UK website.

Coach Outlet Locations

Far from being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores belong to Coach’s own network, and the store locator marks them as outlets. Outlet centres are the typical setting for Coach Outlet stores, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. In the UK, Coach Outlet stores are confirmed to trade at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. York Designer Outlet is less certain: a store there has been reported but not confirmed, so verify first before making the trip. Part of the outlet stock is made for the outlet channel; however, the only share figure found, around 85%, dates from 2014, which leaves today’s mix unknown. Under the reported “One Coach” strategy, outlet assortments also include some full-price collection product, alongside earlier-season styles. Since promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified, look up current offers before setting out on a coach outlet trip.

Inside a Coach Store: What to Expect

Small leather goods, clothing and shoes are shown next to the current handbag range at a full-price coach store, where the bags remain the primary focus. The bag families shoppers will recognise in 2026 include the Tabby (introduced in 2019), the Brooklyn (launched in August 2024) and the Empire Carryall (brought out in February 2025). In the US, a Tabby 26 was spotted at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but neither figure comes from an official price list. The (Re)Loved trade-in operates in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, meaning participation depends on the store. One membership extends to both formats, since Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, is said to cover both Coach and Coach Outlet. Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, which makes a receipt from a Coach store helpful evidence of where a coach bag came from. Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013, remains Creative Director in 2026 and leads the creative direction.

How to Plan a Visit

Wasted journeys can be avoided with a little preparation, above all while the New York flagship is preparing for its planned move. Start with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it sets apart full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. Confirm your bag is all leather rather than canvas, and that the specific store takes part, before attempting a trade-in. Ask in advance whether the personalisation or made-to-order service you want is available. There is no VAT refund to plan around if you are visiting Britain, since tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021. A receipt records where a bag was bought if questions come up later, so hold on to all of them. Ahead of a long trip to an outlet centre, check current promotions, as offers change often.

  • Revisit the store locator on the day you travel.
  • Check that the store participates in trade-ins and that your bag is eligible.
  • Arrange things in advance for personalisation services.
  • Keep a receipt for everything you buy.
